Some behind the scenes at Toni & Guy Academy, New Oxford St, London where I completed a diploma of editorial hairstyling.The most important techniques learnt were the use of appropriate products with minimal hairspray which is something quite noted in all the hairstyling that I do, I love the look of soft natural hair. I love playing with the hair and understanding the texture before I start styling. Toni & Guy taught me how important it was to prepare the hair and get it ready for styling which is what ensures the longevity of a hair style. Editorial styling is quite dramatic and different to everyday styles that we normally do and so I experimented with different kinds of padding and extensions to give the hair oomph! Fortunately I was able to incorporate this skill in my bridal hairstyling techniques as well, because many of the styles I produce entail volume, longevity and softness all at the same time. The layering of the extensions over the padding and teasing for just the right height and softness is something I quite enjoy, I loved the trainers and atmosphere at the London training centre. These were taken a few years ago hence my short hair. The time I spent in London was quite memorable and all my energy and focus was based on grasping and taking away and then practicing all that I had the opportunity to learn! I feel privileged to have learnt, worked and trained with the best of the best in the industry.
